Summer 2- Week 5 29.6.20

Good morning Robin class,

Going forward there won't be a home learning sheet based on the topic uploaded each week as everyone is now back in school smiley. Instead when your child is at home I would like them to focus on their phonics, handwriting, reading and maths.

Last week I sent home some letter formation practise, we are working really hard to ensure that the children form the letters correct so that they are ready to start joining when they are in year one. I will attach another letter formation sheet if you wish to more, we are teaching the handwriting as letter families so last week we sent home the curly caterpillar letters (a c d etc).

Reading

I have uploaded a tapestry observation for every child with their current book band. There are e-books available on the Oxford Owl website (I will attach a link). https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-school/oxford-owl-ebook-collection?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=&age_group=&series=&level=book+band+2%3A+red&book_type=&view_style=image# . You will need to make an account but then it's really easy to use. To help your child to progress with their reading I recommend reading with them for 10-15 minutes five times a week. If you are finding accessing the Oxford Owl books tricky please do let me know.

Phonics

This week our sounds were or and igh, I will attach a few resources that you can use to consolidate these sounds at home. Please also continue reading the phase 2 to 4 tricky words, I have attached a list of them. Once they can read them all please move on to phase 5 and practise spelling them.
