All Saints Church, East Hanningfield.

All Saints Church is just across the road from the school which means it is easily possible for the children to visit the church and learn from the history. The church is Norman in style and was dedicated in 1870, following being rebuilt after the fire in the previous church which was located off Old Church Road. Indeed it contains many parts from the old church.

The children visit approximately once each half term for assemblies which are additional to the celebration of the major festivals like Easter and Christmas.  Parents are always warmly welcomed to these events. We also usually have end of term assemblies in church and at the end of the school year, in July, we give Bibles to all the leaving Year 6 pupils who are going onto secondary school.  All these occasions and experiences help children gain a grasp of the Christian faith from which to make up their minds in knowledge, as they grow.

Throughout the school year we enjoy visiting the school for whole school assemblies and collective worship sessions and to run the Church Club which is after school, usually every other week. The club is well attended and the children are always delighted with a biscuit and drink to end this!

In the church we are child friendly and we are always happy to include children in any of our services. We recognise the importance of including the whole family and therefore on the second Sunday of each month the service is particularly child-centered.

Please check the church website below and join us at one of these special services.

It is great that we are able to promote links between the school and the church, and it is a joy and privilege to see the children on a regular basis.
