Phonics

For the next two weeks it is a recap of phase 3. Each day there will be 2 sounds to go over. There will be a greater focus on writing the sounds in words and sentences. You can make this really fun and engaging by writing with different tools. Here are some ideas: drywipe pens on windows

chalk on the path

gel pens/ colourful pens

giant paper

writing on foil

bath pens

magnetic letters

washable pens on tops! 

finger painting

colourful painting

 

Literacy

What an exciting week it is for Literacy! The children will be becoming authors! They will be writing their own 'Dear Zoo' book inspired by the book by Rod Campbell. They will be working on this on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The video clips for each day will be linked on dojo. On Friday the children are to have a go at playing tricky word snap! Most of the children should be confident in reading phase 2 words so try to use phase 3 words but there are phase 4 and 5 linked is ready for them.
