Summer 1

Our topic this half term is Tribal Tales. 

We will be reading Stig of the Dump by Clive King 

In English, we will be writing stories set in unfamiliar settings ensuring that we focus on the Grammar included in Year 3 and 4. We will then move on to persuasion texts and later an Author study of Clive King.

In Maths we will consolidate our understanding of fractions and move on to understanding decimal place value. We will then move on to learning about measuring mass and capacity and later move on to money.

In Science we will be learning about different types of rock and how they are formed and how fossils are formed.

In Geography we will be learning the different countries and cities in the UK. We will also be studying aerial footage and maps to locate Iron Age hill forts.

In Art we will be creating our own printing blocks and using them to create patterns.

In DT we will be designing and  creating our own Stone Age tools.

In Computing we will be learning how to touch type and how to use email safely. 

In RE we will be learning about how different religions were founded.  

In PE we will be doing Athletics and children will take part in a competition.
