Happy New Year! 

I hope you enjoy your challenges this week, I put the tasks into a timetable to try to create some structure for home learning. If you have any questions or would like any support please message me on DOJO. Please upload pictures of the children completing their challenges on to Dojo every day or every few days.

English

There will be a video uploaded each day for English. The week will start with a recount of the Christmas holidays and writing holiday news. 

Maths 

The year one's will be following the White Rose videos like last year, this is a format they should be used to. Here are the corresponding sheets, the first lesson is all practical so they will need up to 20 objects that they can count (can be lego, pebbles, pencils, anything! ). I have added a Powerpoint with lots of reasoning and problem solving challenges on there for an extra challenge should they finish quickly.

Phonics

We have finished learning the phase 5 graphemes. Please continue practising these in the phonics booklet daily. On the timetable you will see daily phonics lessons. I wanted to ensure progress so I have planned for them to continue to the next part of phase 5. I will link the resources you will need, please either print them or write them. Phonics is probably the most important lesson as they have a phonics check later in the year but also in enables them to read and write confidently. 

Topic

Please see a range of the topic tasks that will be required for this week. I know the timetable is very busy but please aim to complete at least one topic task per day . Many of these lessons are part of a progression of lessons and when we get back to face to face teaching the lessons will continue and build upon the learnt knowledge and skills.
